We are kicking off the ‘Blackwards’ to the Future project in Phoenix with these powerhouses. I’m trying not to get too excited because we have had false starts before but the energy in the room is palpable. Actually, too late, I am super excited to be working with this group.

Is sustainability thinking too WEIRD (Western, Educated, Industrialized, Rich, and Democratic)? New article by Rachelle Gould, Yolanda Jimenez Naranjo and @pattybal.bsky.social
How WEIRD is your #sustainability thinking? This article explores how Western psychological #norms shape global sustainability efforts - often at the expense of more #relational worldviews from non-WEIRD cultures. 🔗 www.tandfonline.com/doi/full/10....

Didn’t think I needed another dystopian sci-fi to kick off my summer reading, but Nana Kwame Adjei-Brenyah's “Chain-Gang All-Stars” proved me wrong. Gladiator fights for prisoner freedom in a privatised US prison system? Uncomfortably plausible.

A good read if, like me, you feel you are trying your best and your best is simply not good enough.
Grateful to everyone who shared their thoughts with me for this piece about the difference between how people imagined they would show up for a moment like this one, and how we're actually showing up—and how we can begin to close the gap between aspiration and action.
