Every once in a while I suddenly remember that just two men, Louis XIV and Louis XV, ruled France for *130 straight years*

Really underscores that if ever a nation lets a king take power there's really no guarantee that they and theirs won't reign through the lives of your great-great-grandchildren

If someone doesn’t ask Karoline Leavitt why she posted on social media that this bill includes no taxes on Social Security when she knows it is a lie and she intentionally lied to the American people, everyone in the room should lose their jobs.

Kemi Badenoch has got off lightly. Unlike TV viewers she was close enough to see Reeves was in real distress and to see the tears but chose to gleefully and gloatingly draw attention to it. In other contexts that would be called "workplace bullying". #PMQs #r4today

Everyone could have a good life, with excellent education, excellent healthcare, excellent pensions and a wonderful atmosphere.

Or we can have crap everything, massive poverty, everyone is deeply unhappy, but we have million... billion... trillionaires.

That is the choice.

I don't know what upset Rachel Reeves but she went out and faced everyone. Maybe she should have hid in a fridge, a la Johnson? She might have got more sympathy.

Churchill cried multiple times in the chamber. Including after the "blood, toil, tears and sweat" speech appropriately.
(This is a kidding on the square opinion, but c’mon. Are we saying Churchill never blubbed? He was famously emotional. The Victorians? Constantly crying. This is all the fault of modernity)

Today has not been a good day in UK politics. Have never agreed with the economic & political choices of Rachel Reeves. But she is a human being entitled to show human emotions. People such as Kemi Badenoch, Robert Jenrick & Chris Philp have just shown again what low lives they are.

This is a lesson for Labour in the UK too

“The only thing that can possibly work is a visionary, loud, appealing alternative, rather than a milder form of the same thing that the very charismatic aspiring autocrat is offering.”

So if I have this straight: ICE agents wearing masks is fine, but protesters wearing masks should be arrested — even if it’s legal — because Trump issued an online edict?

Seems ... flawed. www.msnbc.com/rachel-maddo...
Pointing to protesters, but not ICE agents, Trump demands arrests of those in masks
The president wants protesters in masks to be taken into custody, but immigration enforcement agents in masks are apparently fine.

The BBC should not be run by people who have donated hundreds of thousands of pounds to a political party.

But it is.

It’s actually mad!

Lisa Nandy, time to get impartial people who have a stake and love of the arts, to run the BBC.
