Personal account of Quinton Lucas, Mayor of Kansas City. “Aldi-Brand Obama.”
Argentina, the reigning World Cup champion, has chosen our city as their official base camp for the 2026 FIFA World Cup. The national team will train here as they prepare for the tournament. A great moment for our city on the world stage!

The KC Current + Kansas City + @kcstreetcar.org + Missouri River continue to build the national model for sports facility-adjacent development in the heart of our region, connected to transit, walkable to diverse communities, and engaged with nature.

Good morning, Kansas City and surrounds! I am excited to start my day with our kids--the outstanding students and teachers at Kansas City Public Schools.

Have a great warmer day!

Progress coming finally, as redevelopment begins in earnest and demolition is underway at Parade Park, with a new $300M housing investment to come, and demolition of a longstanding nuisance at the former Robeson School

From the Eastside to the Southland, progress for our neighborhoods.

We’re proud of the economic driver we have for our region, for Missouri and Kansas, and for jobs and productivity in Kansas City International Airport. A key part of our city government, KCI (MCI) is the at heart of growth for our community. Onward and upward!

Yesterday, I taught a class, spoke at the Plaza library, visited with city workers at the airport, and more.

But, I still found time to speak up for our values against the conversion of distribution warehouses into human detention camps. It’s always an important time to speak. We’ll keep it going.

It’s always a good day to organize and encourage more to run for office. We need you!

I had a great time with leaders from across our community at Camp Carnahan with the Missouri Democratic Party.

“Converting a gigantic distribution facility next to railroad tracks and all of that into a warehouse for 10,000 people for which it was never designed is not right, and it is fundamentally something that is inhumane and inhospitable, at least to the senses that we have in Kansas City,” Lucas said.

Talking local issues, like housing, data centers, and safety, with a group of Republican and Democratic mayors today on Face the Nation. 9:30AM on KCTV5. The segment is likely in the show’s second half after 10AM.

From the epic Central-Raytown sold out match-up in 1995 to last night’s Rockhurst game against Shawnee Mission East, it is always a delight seeing Municipal Auditorium as the home for big time high school and college hoops.

Cities are leading America with competence, delivery, and respect for the rights of all.

An important week with mayors from across the country—talking about the progress we are making in housing, reducing crime, and standing up for the values of our country.

Proud to be standing up for my city, America’s cities, all of our people, and all of our rights.

“We're going to take every step we need possible because when you cannot trust the federal government to do right, you need to use every tool in your arsenal to address it."

Joined CNN this morning to discuss how we will stand up for the rights of all in Kansas City and every city in America.

It’s still cold out there, Kansas City. Visit KCMO.gov/Cold for warming center locations, shelter resources, and support for our unhoused neighbors. If you know someone who needs help, connect them to these resources. Let’s look out for each other.

The hardworking crews of the KANSAS CITY SNOW TEAM worked all weekend and are back out today addressing our streets.

There are still slick spots around the City and surrounds, so take it slow in your sedan, pick-up truck, on foot, or however you’re getting around today.

Sorry about that AFC Championship, y’all. Pretty slow.

This is what happens when Kansas City isn’t in it. Be back soon.

Getting out to do the sidewalks with the 4-year-old. Make sure you help out neighbors traverse the city starting at your spot.

The kid’s pretty good!

Morning walk gave me some time today to talk our snow/cold response and the tragedies we continue to see up I-35 in Minneapolis.

Let’s look out for each other.

I can’t just move on, and none of us should.

End the Terror.

Free America's cities.

Prosecute those responsible.

Defend our Constitution and our humanity.

How many people must die?
How many rights must be ignored?
How much cowardice must persist?

Before our leaders bring an end to the reckless federal assault on Minneapolis and America’s cities?

Today’s action is stain on our Constitution, our freedoms, and our humanity.

Proud of Brother Aaron and the nearly 400 outstanding members of the KANSAS CITY SNOW TEAM out clearing the routes to make our city safe to traverse. Thank you!

Our work continues all weekend.
