I always perplexed why Japanese people need tombstone and why cemetery is still considered scary if cremation is the main method. So today I was surprised to learn that the cremation process here is not burning the bodies to ash but still create some leftover bones to be buried below the tomb. 😮

For whatever reason, today it's really hard for my head to register that tomorrow is Christmas. I still have baito tomorrow and keep emailing people outside Japan as if tomorrow is just business day as usual. 😵
Only after I entered a konbini I realized tomorrow is definitely Christmas Day. 😱

Stumbled on paper about John Ing's letter from Hirosaki in 1875. He's a priest from Methodist Church, and the description of Shinto as Temple of Apollo caught me by surprise. 😅

In the middle of doing a short fieldwork in Aomori and I'm feeling overwhelmingly emotional. I hope I gathered enough preliminary data to start my dissertation draft, but my brain is also got overwhelmed.
Maybe I will take it easier tomorrow.
