We have two fantastically well-funded #PhD studentships available through the @evomg-dn.bsky.social #EU doctoral network (led by brilliant @mirimiam.bsky.social, @crg.eu). These enable students to move to the UK and come and work with us @icr.ac.uk to exploit #cancer #evolution for patient benefit.

How do replisomes walk on DNA? And what happens when they run into a G-quadruplex? @sahilbatra.bsky.social and @benallwein.bsky.social provide unexpected insight in our latest paper with Richard Hite @mskcancercenter.bsky.social @science.org www.science.org/doi/10.1126/.... Congrats to all authors!
G-quadruplex–stalled eukaryotic replisome structure reveals helical inchworm DNA translocation
DNA G-quadruplexes (G4s) are non–B-form DNA secondary structures that threaten genome stability by impeding DNA replication. To elucidate how G4s induce replication fork arrest, we characterized fork ...

Déjà vu, but worse. How TF did the country that was a dream destination for scientific training get here? In 2017, we grad students went to protest at the state capitol for anticipated funding cuts. Now, almost a decade later scientific research in the US under bigger threat. Sad, but glad I left!

Today is #WorldCancerDay. Behind every diagnosis is a person, family, and friends who feel the devastating effects of cancer.

Our work has never been more vital.

With pioneering cancer research and groundbreaking discoveries, we can continue bringing hope to future generations.
