Australian, retired & loving it. Into: women; flight simming; aviation; Oz politics & global current affairs; dogs, especially my 4-legged friend Max. Enjoy seafood & good wines, can't stand gutter-dwelling conservatives & their gormless apologists.
Who is the actor and what character did he play in this guise?

2-part made_for_tv movie "Blackout". Lotsa shooting, multiple bad guys, surprise good guy, very Americana. Despite that, quite watchable in a vaguely-paying-attention way.

How many unprecedented weather events and 'natural' disasters do we have to endure before people realise that the cost of electricity is the least of our problems?

Absolutely horrifying
New map produced by RTVE, Spanish national TV, of the 6000 mass graves in Spain. In the last 25 years some 17,000 bodies of men, women and children have been exhumed out of the ~120,000 dumped in mass unmarked graves by the Franco regime.

the thing that strikes me about this — again, besides it being false — is the venom and disrespect for the people who come here to work and build better lives. they aren’t “servants.”

Albo’s offer of a state funeral for Graham Richardson is very poor optics.

No honour in honouring a dishonourable former member
A state funeral for ALP kingmaker Graham Richardson is not appropriate for a man of such dubious achievements.

While we're at it, let's go back to having 24 or 25 marginal tax brackets like they did in the early - mid 1950s. It's really stupid that people who make $375K pay same rate as people who make $10 million - or way more. Also stupid for a person making $48K to pay same rate as someone making $102K.

When will people of voting age wake up to the Standard Operating Procedures employed by conservatism whenever it takes political power in whatever jurisdiction is concerned. Change nothing, revert everything to the conservative mindset, replace ppl in power with their own kind.

Dear ABC radio, please have somebody with more expertise than me explain to you why “renewables are the cheapest form of power” and “power prices have gone up in the last years in spite of increased renewables” are not contradictory statements. And why slowing renewables will not bring prices down.

Sally Sara, ABC RN wanting to promote the line that Labor shouldn't have promised lower prices by 2025. Well they did and Ukraine war meant power prices world wide increased. Taylor, unbeknown to all changed the mandated reporting date of power prices to post election, GG signed it, hidden increase

It's a difficult watch as Doug McClelland is an old man now but his memory still seems sharp. Evidence of a disjointed chain of command in the Whitlam cabinet, difficult times but historical none the less.

Definitely worth 36 minutes and 20 seconds of anyone's day. A chance to listen to the memories of PJK who while ageing, still has a mind like the proverbial trap. I was particularly taken by his statement that politics in this country changed irrevocably in 1975. So true.

I'm sick to death of this faux political bullshit. This isn't politics, it's childish infighting among conservatives who have no backbone, don't understand liberalism and pretend to represent a constituency that wants action based on science, not palm-greasing by corporate interests
