Four times over the weekend Stephen Miller referred to the LA protests as an "insurrection." Not because it was one but because he, Trump and Homan were looking to gin up a pretext for clenching the federal government's fist against its opponents.

Of course the LA Times makes it look like a full on riot instead of showing that the mostly peaceful protesters were literally and constantly assaulted by ICE agents. The majority of fires that were started weren’t by the public but by ICE firing into the crowds and canisters starting fires. 🧵

LA authorities are able to access law enforcement assistance at a moment’s notice. We are in close coordination with the city and county, and there is currently no unmet need.
