Conservation can delay the inevitable. But without habitat, even the most heroic efforts can’t subvert extinction.

It takes 25 minutes to turn a live steer into a steak at the modern slaughterhouse. They are still alive when they get to various cutters.

Whales *sing* when they’ve had a good meal.

What an utterly gorgeous insight into our wonderful world 🌎
New research reveals significant changes in the marine ecosystem 🌊, and prey availability is reflected in the songs of fin, blue, & humpback whales. 🐋

This means whale songs can be used as a window into their lives and an indicator of the changing ocean.

Anyone who cares about nature: take note.

The extreme right aren't just the enemy of women, the poor, people of colour, gays, moslems, jews, Palestinians, the disabled, etc., etc... they don't give a damn about the natural world, either.

Our fights are one and the same.
Heartbreaking news… Tonight, many of our friends were let go, and tomorrow, even more will follow. Word is that all probationary employees at NPS will be let go. 😭

Trees are the ultimate multitaskers! They can absorb up to 48 pounds of CO2 per year, provide shade, create oxygen, prevent soil erosion, and even improve our mental health. Talk about a green superhero!
