Turns out trying to interview an Olympic gold medal winning triathlete while running 5kilometres with him is something of a challenge

Jaydee Canvot suffered a software failure against AEK Larnaca but faced no problems with his programming to replicate Marc Guehi against Brighton

A strong performance from the teenager. He has the hardware, now they just need to ensure the software is reliable #CPFC

Jaydee Canvot is Marc Guehi’s short-term replacement. What about the long term?
With the captain injured, the French teenager was given his chance against Brighton and responded with an impressive performance

Full-time: Palace 0-0 Brighton

An even game, Palace did have the better chances but they lacked the finish as seems to be the case too often.

Tired towards the end. Sarr's chance in the first half the best one.

Mitchell outstanding, Canvot very good too. A strong defensive performance #CPFC

Will Hughes on for Daichi Kamada. Seven minutes remaining #CPFC
November 9, 2025 at 3:41 PM
Some good Palace interplay in midfield then sees Kamada run at the Brighton defence into the area only to shoot into the side netting. Wasn't really on but he did well #CPFC

Wharton is subbed for Yeremy Pino after 65 minutes #CPFC
November 9, 2025 at 3:24 PM
Brighton have a penalty. At first I thought Wharton fouled Rutter but the replays suggest no foul at all. VAR should overturn this with Tim Robinson at the screen #CPFC

Half-time: Palace 0-0 Brighton.

An even game with no clear cut chances. Palace had a couple of balls flash across the area and Mateta shot over from outside the area.

Defences definitely on top. A game which could yet explode into life and you sense something will give in the second half #CPFC
November 9, 2025 at 2:49 PM
Jaydee Canvot has definitely improved as this game has gone on. Minteh having a poor game but Canvot, so far, has largely handled him well #CPFC
November 9, 2025 at 2:47 PM
This has been a very even game so far. Nothing really to note by way of chances #CPFC
November 9, 2025 at 2:41 PM
Palace have had about five opportunities (and taken them) for long throws in the past five minutes. None have been sufficiently threatening.

That said, not sure how Lacroix slapping away Van Hecke's arm after having his shirt pulled off his shoulders is a foul for Brighton and not Palace., #CPFC
November 9, 2025 at 2:34 PM
9’: Palace perfect break down the right. Munoz then cuts it across for Mateta who controls perfectly and sets it for Sarr. His curling shot is well saved by Verbruggen #CPFC
November 9, 2025 at 2:09 PM
Palace break. Sarr plays in Mateta who emerges towards the area but his powerful shot is over the bar. Open game in the first 5 minutes #CPFC

I genuinely think that every other train I get there is someone playing something out loud without headphones that I can hear over music

Feels like it's actually becoming more common as well

A comprehensive win for Palace over AZ.

The shift in momentum since a blip with four tough games and results has been notable. Extremely timely ahead of Brighton

Palace thrive most when they are consistently playing with intensity. That produces momentum #CPFC

Full-time: Palace 3-1 AZ

A dominant performance from Palace who comfortably win. Ismaila Sarr in particular was unplayable but the front three connected really well with each other.

Breathing space now as they look to avoid a Conference League play-off match by making the top eight #CPFC

Isak Jensen misses a glorious chance. Heads a cross back in the same direction but doesn't direct it into the back of the net as it should. He knows it because he kicks the post in anger #CPFC
November 6, 2025 at 9:54 PM
Mateta races away down the right and bears down on goal. Munoz played it to Sarr who then put a through ball for Mateta but his shot is narrowly wide of the goal.

AZ extremely open and vulnerable. Palace loving it. Sarr has been unplayable. #CPFC
November 6, 2025 at 9:24 PM
GOAL! Ismaila Sarr restores Palace's two goal advantage.

Pass to Mateta, he holds off, then slots a brilliant through ball into Sarr running onto it and he finishes it perfectly.

Goal! AZ have a lifeline. Palace now only lead 2-1. #CPFC
November 6, 2025 at 9:17 PM
Goal! Another one from a deep free-kick. Ismaila Sarr puts it in from fairly close range

Lerma heads it across, Lacroix heads it and then Sarr scores to double the lead.

VAR check #CPFC

Only four minutes of time added on in the first half. That's really not a lot. Bizarre. #CPFC
November 6, 2025 at 8:46 PM
Will Hughes has a go from more than 20 yards and it stings the palms of Owusu-Oduro. He's almost shooting on sight! #CPFC
November 6, 2025 at 8:40 PM
You have to feel that AZ have missed a trick by leaving themselves so open to Palace's rampaging transitions.

All the overlaps and the runs down the flanks have been so threatening. It's almost as if it's how Palace have enjoyed much of their success over the past 18 months #CPFC
November 6, 2025 at 8:28 PM
Lacroix scores with a great snapshot finish but Mateta is offside after interfering with play #CPFC
November 6, 2025 at 8:22 PM
Missed! Mateta appeared to not hear the whistle and took ages to take the penalty. Then he shot to the goalkeeper's left but not hard or fast enough and it's saved well #CPFC
