It's been nearly 2 years since this aired live, but I still receive feedback like this via my website:

"I just watched a repeat of History's Greatest Mysteries about Jack the Ripper, and loved your prominent appearance on it. I hope to get my hands on a copy of your book one day."
There is nothing more soul-crushing than being a writer on submission, as well as unemployed and seeking a job. I don't recommend it.

Well.....half of that was fixed today. I landed a great job. I know in this current market, I am very fortunate.

My deepest sympathies for your loss. When I lost my dad, what brought me solace was knowing what a great man he was, & how much he was loved.

Your husband was such a gift. His words, his stories, especially the Renkos, are so impactful & influential on people like me.

R.I.P Martin Cruz Smith and thank you for your stories. Gorky Park launched my love for thrillers, and the release of a new Arkady Renko novel was my Harry Potter.

A great writing talent, receiving this terrific honor, while still trying to conquer the submission beast.

Kirk is too good a writer to not have been picked up yet. It's only a matter of time.

Congratulations man. I still owe you a chat BTW
My historical thriller, The Cosmonaut, has been recognized as a Top 1% project on The Black List!!! It’s on sub now, #Editors (See my bio for contact info) #writingcommunity #historicalfiction #thriller Thanks @theblcklst.bsky.social!!!

Live and Uncut made the shortlist for the Ripperology Book of the Decade. It’s the only fiction book to make the list. A huge honor.

What really bothers me is how this story can be so well received by readers, yet rejected by editors on the traditional route.

Makes it make sense 😞

Dialog is a huge part of storytelling, but sometimes, you can create storytelling perfection without a spoken word.

Example. What I think is one of, if not the greatest non-dialog scene in history.

And that's a wrap 🎭

Charlotte's school's performance ended today, & my little girl CRUSHED IT in the role of Lafou!!!

She received rave reviews & so much praise from people who attended. So proud of my little one, (Thespian 2). She has a great future in stage ahead of her. ❤️

This trailer looks awesome. While the trailer has some jump scares, I love the creepy tone throughout. Reminded me of the vibes Se7en had.

Good luck with the movie Marc. We should support projects like this, either back them or spreading the news.

If people wonder why I continue to fight for my Ripper novel, then blame readers like this, who sent me the below email. They've never read my writing before and Live and Uncut is their introduction to my stories. This is fuel, and why I still believe Carl Axford has a future.

Sometimes, I think research is the greatest, when it comes to #writing. Learning details, or being surprised by facts can ultimately drive your story, & take your narrative to a place you hadn't planned.

Making fact responsible for fiction & vice versa is a wonderful experience.
