I'm sitting in an Indian restaurant in NSW, having just followed up some work in the Wimmera, and had a call about Bendigo as I got off the train ... And I probably need to use my lunch break to make a call about my home Congregation in Northcote. It really is a funny life.

I conceptualise my theology as being like a sourdough starter or a scoby. It's alive, it changes over time, it's shaped in new ways by what it interacts with. It functions to affect other things, rather than being the focus itself.

I was talking someone today about weddings, and the vow from Ruth really struck me as a perfect wedding text:
Where you go, I will go;
where you lodge, I will lodge;
your people shall be my people
and your God my God. +
