I'm really getting tired of these concrete bunker stores where you have to cower by the front door to get any signal. It makes asking shopping list questions very annoying.

Listening to a podcast, they're arguing with AI code generation that code review is becoming a hot spot in the software developer process. Yes, that's a very valid statement.

As the children do their homework I feel music theory limits creativity. As long as you know how to go from notes on a page to the instrument, play and write what sounds good and you like. Why the rules about note combinations, paper, notes, play, that simple, no?

This cat is normally not at all cuddly, but winter is here and it looks like I'm stuck on the couch for the night.

Apparently the gr1 teacher gave a very DARE type anti-drug lesson today including showing before and after mugshots of drug users, we're slightly upset about this. Child came home saying drugs make you a monster (teacher said zombie, but what diff does a 6 yr old know), is this VSB email worthy?

I forgot to turn Strava on before taking the kids out. Two hours of walking. Wife said we got three doorbell rings total.

Did anything else happen in the world while I was out? I imagine it was a pretty quiet evening.

Younger child asks for the "Tell me more tell me more" song in the car. I seem to have given them a very eclectic taste in music.

I'm sure we all know how The Real Ghostbusters cartoon had that name because there was another existing cartoon called Ghostbusters that aired first. But I just learned the latter was based on a 70s live action show with the same characters, even a giant gorilla! And the dematerialized camera. 🤯

Oddly enough I was thinking earlier this week western countries should take a page from Russia and directly propagandize to American citizens, universal healthcare good, environment good, billionaires bad. More please, and stronger.

Oh gawd, how did we get to a position where we're venerating Regan.
October 25, 2025 at 3:20 PM
Yeah, we have an issue we're not sure how to handle. One parent raised in the class Whatsapp group their child has been complaining about being rushed to eat lunch and not being able to finish before being rushed outside. Other parents agreed, more food coming home lately, similar complaints. 1/

Oh gawd. Not next year, but I feel like I'm getting pissed off enough at VSB bullshit I'm going to end up on a ballot again in 5 years.

I said this during the Liberals and it still stands, if the Ministry of Education thinks it's providing sufficient funds to districts, provide a sample budget. Give an itemized list of how districts should be spending their money and be able to balance their budgets. I'll wait.
