If @mark-carney.bsky.social really wants to make a huge impact on Canadian energy independence and the green economy he'd offer to remove tariffs on Chinese solar panels as part of the negotiations. Imagine how transformative cheap solar would be, oh wait, we don't have to, just look at Australia.

Uneventful, though ask again in a week.

And Tories are the biggest traders, apparently.

After public announcements it was coming, I flipped the switch yesterday to turn off free access to Unity's AI platform. It's entertaining the dozens and dozens of signups to the closed beta we've received over the past 24 hours.

The latest books being read by the 8 year old, @stephenfry.bsky.social's mythology series. She's really been into Greek mythology lately. She listened to an interview with him on CBC The Sunday Edition, I asked if she wanted me to reserve them from the library, and she excitedly said yes.

As every developer knows, time is hard. And most don't get it right. So close Best Buy, UTC but labelling it PT...

I bought myself a graduation present at the end of university...I sold it around the time I met you and the others.

My fear is this means one hell of a mosquito season this summer. No deep freezer to kill most of the eggs.

Don't ask me about the yellow Mustang I had in 2001...

What gets me is, as someone who loves to remind people he has first nations heritage, traditionally he would be part of the "undesirable neighbour" for the people he's dog whistling for. He does realize he's virtue signaling for his historic oppressors, right?

Huh, I was only offered 40GB for $34, what makes you so special? Jerk.

I'm jealous of one of my team members. When I got promoted in the fall it meant I no longer had time to drive a new initiative writing a whole new platform in Golang. I'm very jealous of the fun she gets to have on this project. 😂

I suspect it more easily allows price creep somehow. But yes, I keep getting the offers too, no I don't want to pay $3 more a month, I'm on a cheap plan intentionally because I'm rarely off wifi, 20GB and 4G is moooore than enough for me.

I was more referring to the part where Americans walk into Ottawa and say we're taking over, you let things go too far...

I've long wondered why there are religion based hospitals in a public healthcare system to begin with. Why the need for a middleman. Why have any ideology involved in healthcare delivery.

I still haven't fully processed that this upcoming change, where I will be solo parenting dropoff & pickup, is permanent. My mind keeps saying, "oh we just have to survive a few weeks of this...then back to normal." No, this is our new reality. This is frightening.

Fucking java shit.

That's called malicious compliance with salary in job ads legislation.

Yep, that's the discussion I had with the fellow at the store, Tern has many many years doing e-bikes and they just put a lot of thought into utility.
January 10, 2026 at 8:58 PM
Well, we just put a deposit down for a Tern Quick Haul. Wife wasn't thrilled about spending all that money but she saw the value of it when Gazelles, etc are about the same price for less adaptability. Now to browse accessories.
January 10, 2026 at 7:39 PM
Trying to convince my wife to select a Tern Quick Haul as her commuter bike, it could be useful as our "second car."

I might have ulterior motives of wanting to occasionally borrow it for shopping or taking the kids to swimming/piano...

Months ago, catch-up. But yes, disappointing.

Not that I plan to go order from these American chains, but in the coupons, these are the SALE prices??? WTF! That's more like what I'd expect the regular price to be. How are these companies staying in business?
