I was today years old when I found out that ‘coming out’ was more than declaring your identity in the 60’s and 70’s—it was a political act of resistance.

Wild how it evolved into a personal journey of self-acceptance.

The shift says a lot.

Why do I feel like @aoc.bsky.social and @repjasmine.bsky.social are the only ones on our side

8 months ago I was watching a Hitler doc. and immediately saw the connections between DJT and Hitler. I knew NOTHING about politics at the time….

Now I watch congressional hearings, cross reference news sources, and could basically recite theConstitution…

How do ppl not see the connection?

Do you think its possible for us to live in a society where we all have an abundance amount of resources therefor our status would be a reflection of the depth of our relationships, community and fullfiment in life?

Would your personal goals change?

Note: this is all new for me so open to other news sources

I learned a way to cross reference information to try to identify propaganda:

1. See a story that interests you
2. Check AP/Reuters for basic facts
3. Look at BBC for international perspective
4. Go to NPR/PBS for deeper analysis
5. If it's a major issue, check ProPublica or investigative outlet

Something clicked for me when you mentioned Capitalism as a worldview!! Noticing so many subconscious beliefs, ways of communicating, emotions are connected to capitalism. You just put me down a rabbit hole that will forever change the way I view the world

I see what you're saying. I don't personally resonate with the show (I did watch it and it was entertaining). I know the exact type of person who would watch this show and its a huge majority of young guys in the US. Dems need to be open-minded and understand we need new messengers…its not landing

Never got a response after that 😂

So when you tell me "it's just politics," understand: for me, it's about whether I can hold my partners hand in the hospital, share insurance, or be protected as his partner. That's not political—that's personal.

We can disagree on taxes, foreign policy, or government spending. But my right to be recognized as my partner as family? That's not politics—it's human dignity. (10/12)

When you vote, you're not just picking a personality or policy position. You're potentially empowering a movement that sees my marriage as invalid and my rights as negotiable. (9/12)
January 22, 2025 at 10:23 PM
You might say "that won't happen," but we thought the same about Roe V. Wade. The fear isn't just mental—it's based on watching "settled law" get unsettled in real time. (8/12)
January 22, 2025 at 10:23 PM
Supreme Court decisions set precedents for future rulings. By overturning Roe, they opened the door to revisiting other privacy rights—including my basic right to marry the person I love. (7/12)
January 22, 2025 at 10:23 PM
This isn't theoretical. If my marriage gets invalidated in certain states, I could be banned from my partners hospital room if we had an emergency while visiting family in Texas or any anti-gay relatives could bar me from his funeral etc. (6/12)
January 22, 2025 at 10:23 PM
Here's the scary part: My right to marry (Obergefell v. Hodges) stands on the EXACT SAME legal foundation as Roe did. When Roe was overturned, Justice Thomas explicitly said same-sex marriage should be "reconsidered." (5/12)
January 22, 2025 at 10:23 PM
Let's talk Roe v. Wade: It wasn't just about abortion. It was built on the constitutional right to privacy under the 14th Amendment (and due process). Its overturn showed that "guaranteed" rights CAN be stripped away. (4/12)

Right now, SCOTUS has a conservative majority. So while your INTENTION might not have been an attack on LGBTQ+ members your vote IS...it's about how influential conservative figures can reshape fundamental rights when there's no counterbalance. (3/12)

[Start of message]

Our government's system of checks & balances is meant to prevent any single group from having too much power. But when one ideology dominates the Supreme Court, Senate, House, AND presidency, those checks disappear. (2/12)

"It's just politics. It's not personal."

A childhood acquaintance (now Trumper) asked why the LGBTQIA community takes Trump votes personally. Here's my response based on facts...(1/12)
