And you know what the worst part is? Those kinds of
people will always get away with it. The universe never
punishes them. Karma never gets them.

The glamour of being an indie writer. I ordered copies of my book for the upcoming cons, and the geniuses at Amazon packed my laundry detergent with it—this is the result. Oprah help me. The detergent is everywhere — my clothes, the floor, all over my books.

Someone tell me something good!

Happy 38th anniversary to one of my all-time favorites, my beloved Chopping Mall! This movie is a classic and should be seen by everyone! This was one of the first 2 horror movies I ever rented on VHS 📼 (the other being the wonderful April Fool’s Day). Have a nice day! #HorrorMovies #ChoppingMall

Origin of the word “spinster” was in reference to their occupation and used to convey independent women who supported themselves and shunned social norms and expectations of their day; these women were considered useful and self-sufficient. Now people use it in a derogatory way. #HorrorWritersChat
#HorrorWritersChat question 4:

Give us an interesting, funny, weird, or scary fact you learnt while researching for a horror work

I'm Matt. I write horror. There's a feeling I get from horror that I don't get elsewhere, and I love that horror supports smart, brave women. I love to be scared and thrilled...until 3am when I hear every noise in the house. It also helps release my own fears and anxieties. #HorrorWritersChat
#HorrorWritersChat question 1:

Introduce yourself: Tell us who you are, what you write, and why horror resonates with you

I love strong, smart, brave, capable, resilient, and resourceful female characters, final girls, and heroines, so Annie in The Felicitous and Mary in You Better Watch Out are flawed, human, intelligent, and not waiting to be rescued--they'll fight back. #HorrorWritersChat
#HorrorWritersChat question 5:

Friday 8th is International Women’s Day. Who might future teachers and university lecturers consider your greatest female or woman identifying or aligned character, and why?

Oof! For me, it's a few things. (1) Finding the time and energy after work, life, responsibilities, and such; (2) Too many ideas at once, trying to remember them all and stay on course of the story; and (3) It's me. Hi. I'm the problem, it's me. #HorrorWritersChat
#HorrorWritersChat question 4:

What's the biggest personal challenge when you are writing horror?

I'm Matt Forgit. I write horror novels. My work is a love letter to the great horror movies, shows, books, and final girls. My latest novel, The Felicitous, is an homage to 70s cult movies, 80s slashers, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, The Hills Have Eyes, and horror heroines. #HorrorWritersChat
#HorrorWritersChat question 1:

Introduce yourself: tell us who you are, what you write, and your elevator pitch (sum up in one sentence) on your most recent / upcoming horror release
