I met Jane Goodall in 1997 or 98, before everyone had cell phones and cameras. She was giving a lecture but I don’t remember anything about it except thinking, “wow, Jane Goodall is giving a talk here. I am at a Jane Goodall lecture.”

"Hugely, spring exists again"—John Ashbery

Weather in Austin is currently perfect.

"Nothing is partially incomplete, but the wait / Invests everything like a climate. / What time of day is it? / Does anything matter? / Yes, for you must wait to see what it is really like"
