i think one of hashino's biggest flaws at least in persona and especially catherine is that he really wants to write social commentary but the characters he writes always seem at odds with what hes trying to say
p5 is a game i really do love despite all of its writing flaws and hashino's insistence on trying to write social commentary even though hes just kinda bad at it (at least up until metaphor for the most part). its not hard to criticize but fuck. thats fucking high school gaming right there
