Polish your spaces through imperfections.
Drop your ruler, don't make everything clean and squarish, it's soooo rare to have perfect metrics in real life and your space will feel much more believable if things are a bit wonky and imperfect.

Something that caused a lot of dissonance with players is that they do have this image of Hornet, but the game being so much harder didn't make them feel faster or more skillful.

If you have two controllers plugged in for Goldeneye on N64, you can find an option to use both at the same time so you have two thumbsticks for walking and aiming.
