Why not talk to a planner? Not a property agent with a vested interest? "...also provides for compatible use or development, including residential, that does not
adversely impact on the protection, conservation and management of the
landscape values..." It was exhibited last year.
‘Absolutely devastated’: Hopes dashed as Kingborough zoning changes to impact hundreds
“Some people’s blocks of land will never be able to be built on. They will just be for picnics.” A key opponent has outlined drastic impacts under proposed zoning changes at Kingborough.

I may or may not have bought this... a Hobart tram destination roll. #hobart #tasmania #transport

The fact there are buses running every twenty minutes to 1am means I can get wrecked and support the nighttime economy is great. Get good.

Mail call, and its the first transport study ever conducted for an Australian city. The 1965 Hobart study still remains one of the most contentious, maligned, and interesting pieces of work by a consulting firm in Australian transport planning history.

I'm baaaaaack.
Namely because I forgot this existed, and because I don't like splitting my content up across platforms. Does anyone know any decent (free) aggregators where I can cross-post easily?

I started writing this on the weekend and unexpectedly it has become quite topical.

Learn how the MTT became Metro, and how it staved off privatisation in the 1990s. #politas

Isn't it pretty? The Metropolitan Transport Trust Hobart network map from 1988. It was the first year the swept-M logo and two-tone green was used. Kingston and Blackmans Bay were not included in the urban area, and services were operated by Hobart Coaches/Hazell Brothers. #politas #hobart

Here is the 2014 Main Road Transit Corridor study, including some superceded options. Surprising that not many of these were delivered, given there was apparently funding. Interesting that land use was also reviewed. #politas t.co/lWEKOqatmG

Today's Mercury, some interesting survey results. 56.69% support Light Rail, while 24.11% support BRT. Trackless tram is 9.87% and None of these is 9.33%. It confirms that buses have a public image problem. Frequency and reliability over big projects is what's needed. #politas

Half-price fares fail to improve Metro patronage. No surprise as the service is unreliable even after accounting for "service adjustment" and there is still no tracking (supposed to be coming this month) #politas pulsetasmania.com.au/news/half-pr...
Half-price fares fail to boost Hobart bus usage as 150 services remain suspended
Just 26 of the 177 services cut across Hobart in 2023 have been reintroduced…
