Watching Port Protection on disney plus really makes me yearn for a community like theirs.

One guy taught a newcomer how to skin a beaver and tan the hide and he took the meat to another neighbor in trade for jam.

That is who I was raised. Helping your neighbors, trading knowledge and bounty

@bsky.app please make the text box character length longer, and please make it so we can add more photos and longer videos?

As a homestead account its very complicated to have to make a post with 5+ running comments just to talk or teach about what we do

Did you know waterfowl need essential vitamins like vitamin B and E for proper growth! Peas are a great source of vitamin B. We like to boil, rinse in cold water and makes pea smothies for our younger ducks.

Can we take a moment to applaud a few small achievements… I’m on a weight loss/ health journey.

In December 2024/January 2025 i could not do the 3 flights of stairs at work without breaks and feeling like i would die.. this morning i jogged those 3 flights and only needed a small breather

Did you know garlic is fairly easy to grow?
In the fall before the frost plant largest cloves root down, In spring you will start to see sprouts and by june/july depending on climate you will have full bulbs of garlic. Just pull, shake off the dirt and hang to dry for 2-4 weeks in a dark dry space!

Days 1-18 eggs rotated 3-5 time daily,55% humidity and 99-100 degrees

day 18-21 eggs go into lock down. no more rotating, humidity raised to 65-75%

On day 20-21 chicks will crack and small hole and begin to hatch #chickens #farm
