More overnight shelter spaces are coming to the Victoria Native Friendship Centre in Saanich.
Provincial funding means the Centre can add 25 new temporary shelter beds to offer immediate relief and support to more people in need in our community.

Thanks @susankimyyj.bsky.social - the water commission is so important for the whole region - we need to take care of our award winning drinking water! The commission is a great group making evidence based decisions. Appreciate you sharing the good news!
Shoutout to @marywagnerlangford.bsky.social for moving forward this motion arising. She’s one of my favourite commissioners; I hope everyone in Langford knows how hard she works for us all at the Regional Water Supply Commission.

This was disappointing and hopefully the decision can be reversed. I am behind Saanich and the Victoria Native Friendship Centre 100%!
Mayor and Council will be advocating strongly to have this decision reversed.
Victoria Native Friendship Centre does incredible work and funding would allow them to double their shelter capacity which is very needed!
