Just back from a lovely wee trip to Wales. Any guesses where I have been?

More Kent: highlights included the deer at Knole Park and the wonderful stained glass windows of Marc Chagall at Tudeley.

I have been fortunate to switch off for a couple of days on a walking holiday in Kent, known as the Garden of England. Lots of amazing nature and saw several of Henry VIII’s hunting lodges!

A red admiral butterfly on the grass, brown with orange and white markings round the edge of its wings. A stately home, Penshurst Place, in the distance among lots of green fields and trees. Overhead, the sky is dark and cloudy, a storm is imminent.
