The Tennessee Secretary of State handed public library boards that are eager to ban LGBTQ+ books–and particularly trans books–from their collections the biggest permission slip last week.

Rutherford County is *closing* libraries to remove books.

It is rare that I see this vibrant red in the trees at home & today it was the view from my room. Sometimes it is the "little things" you notice when you go to a conference that are a real treat.

The unintended consequences of this administration. Having lived where the majority of our produce is grown & harvested by migrant workers from Mexico, I think this administration's policies stink (sanitized)This country relies on an incredible amount of labor from people who aren't citizens.

Let’s call it what it is — UVA President Jim Ryan’s forced resignation is an attack on all of our public higher education institutions.

May every single human being on this planet be safe.

May every single person be protected from harm.

May we bring into being a time in which we are all free from those who do evil— together, speedily and in our days.

I write a lot about U.S. history because everything happening is part of a bigger picture, and to understand our country right now, we need to understand its past.

Also because clearly not everyone remembers that we made a choice a long time ago not to have kings here.

There is a LOT of reporting on IMLS right now, but it's being done by people who know what it is. The DOE being dismantled is overshadowing this and that's being done INTENTIONALLY.

But anyway, DOGE is in the IMLS offices right now destroying it.

Say goodbye to interlibrary loans + more.

The library and the post office are the only two systems we have that circulate things widely and to everyone, no matter who they are or what they believe. The library is the only one that, for now, is not forced to pay for itself at point of sale. Attacks on IMLS are attacks on every one of us.

Out of the blue question- if your school went 1-1 more than 4 years ago & is now going with less device usage, how are you changing your practice?
