Earth's escape velocity = 11.27 km/s, so get used to being here. I take between 5-8 K photos per year. Some are even good!

I'm really rather enamoured with the rime ice.

If the sky is clear tonight, it's probably going to be worth being outside with your camera, folks. #aurora

I'm looking forward to getting out tonight. I hope the clouds dissipate.

Uh oh. I found the Gisnep archives and have decided I'm going to do all 500+. I mean, I'm already doing all the Monday crosswords (now back as far as Dec. 2020 there), so why not?

"Frosty Forest Portal"

I've enjoyed having all of this rime ice around.

Okay, yes. The iPhone 16e has a much better camera than the iPhone 8 which I have now shelved.

Beautiful rime ice has formed around the Red Bluff area above Quesnel. I spent some time walking around with my camera.

Bonus shot of a BIG dog poking his head through a sunroof. 🙂

In today's unnecessary censorship, I'm listening to Jann Arden's "Good Mother" on Boom 97.3 and this was taken out. I don't even remember what it was replaced with because it was so benign and forgettable.

I used to photograph chairs wherever I found them. This is terrific!

For the #BlueSkyArtShow theme of #one. All things considered, it's probably the most important one, too.

I used five RAW files and the "focus merge" feature in Affinity to process this photo. I made a preset to copy edits but if anyone knows a faster way, please advise.

I'll bet @jeffontherock.bsky.social can tell me if it's orange peel fungus, too. 🙂 He's an incredible fungi photographer.

It's #FlyDay and my #Birds post today is a Snowy Egret. I'm getting used to the new camera and how it does focusing - getting some good BIF picturs. 🪶 #EastCoastKin #Nature #Wildlife #Photography

I just used the (free) "Depth Compositing Tool" in Digital Photo Professional 4 for the first time. I'm going to try Affinity's (free) "Focus Merge" later today, too.

I wasted a lot of money on Adobe products. This 5-shot image turned out great and I didn't even edit the RAW files.

So nice to have proper cold weather back.
