I love to travel. I’m a great cook. Work in a “glamour profession” — high school teacher. We can always talk about Star Trek and/or cats.

Sometimes I know how super lucky I am to teach Environmental Science. Took 2 classes outside to see the spring growth on our school grounds. Here’s a nest in one of our trees.
Caturday greetings from my beautiful friend Daisy. 🌼 🐈

Best comment I’ve read about Watson was that being smart doesn’t necessarily make you a good human.
apropos james watson’s death i had an idle thought today about how stupid race/iq stuff sounds. “buh if your skin is darker you are biologically less smart” is a thing only a dumbass can believe

Watson’s death is a fantastic reminder that you can be intelligent without being a good person.
The obituary of someone who gained widespread fame through remarkable achievements at a young age and then expected to be taken seriously for anything he said thereafter.

I’m going to Iceland with my students next July. Does anyone have any tips, must-see places, things to make time for, things to skip?

Just had this brilliant idea — a live stage version of The Breakfast Club. Main se is the Library, secondary set is the office. When the actors run through the halls of the school, they run through the house. Has this already been done?

I traveled to Japan this summer, and loved the food and the konbini (convenience stores, like 7-11). Today I bought fresh sushi & frozen gyoza at a new Japanese market near my job that gave off konbini vibes. 5 STARS!!

An early morning walk in the forest is like stepping into the mysterious world of nature. The air is cool and fresh, scented with damp earth and wild leaves. Sunlight falls gently through the trees, painting golden patterns on the path.

Found a new Japanese market in Astoria! Got some matcha Kit-Kats. Next time, I’ll check out the sushi. (Full disclosure: I would have tried the sushi today if I had not had a long subway ride ahead of me. Insulated bag next time!)
