Just stuff that interests me, mainly NFL (the mighty Colts!), speedway (the equally mighty Invaders!) plus classic music, film & telly (according to me); and a tiny sliver of politics.

Shoutout to Aden Durde, the first British coach to win a championship.

And shutout to Leslie Frazier, who was thrown under the mother of all buses in Buffalo. Now, he's a two-time champion coach.
A defensive play-caller guiding a team to a championship post-Belichick. I am levitating. I need several cigarettes.

Thank you Macdonald, Aranda, Fangio, Flores and Rex.

RIP Sly Dunbar, drumming genius. Played on thousands of records, hundreds of them brilliant. These are genuine works of art, a few among many, the tip of an iceberg of unmatched creativity.

It was JS who made Long Eaton a respected force in the National League (didn’t happen very often!) and even qualified for a World Final as an Invader! What a guy!

Had great night in Sheffield to see the Bootleg Beatles. Never seen a ‘tribute band’ before but you really could close your eyes & think it was ‘them’. And a boisterous but well-behaved pre-Christmas Sheffield audience!

Astronomical #winter starts today. It's the shortest day of the year in terms of daylight with the sun starting to set later each day until Summer Solstice.

Gladys Cooper: huge power player in West End theatre, both business & acting. Brilliant in Now Voyager, Rebecca & The Bishop’s Wife (Mrs Hamilton!) amongst others, and was even in one of the better original Twilight Zones. Read her biography by grandson, Sheridan Morley (son of Robert). A goddess!

St Nicholas, shown here resurrecting three boys from a pickling tub, became known for genorosity and protecting children.

Such stories shaped Europe’s Sinterklaas, which evolved into Santa Claus and eventually, Father Christmas. 🎅
