A U2 coming in to land at RAF Fairford this evening. The sky was just a horrible grey nothing, so I decided to just get rid of it and quite like the results.

Straight out of camera, this was not a ‘good’ shot - slightly out of focus, sky blown out, had to be cropped heavily. So I decided to edit it to give it a ‘vintage’ look - what do you think? Rolls Royce heritage Spitfire at the Midlands Air Festival 2025.

Wow - just how long is it since I've posted here? House renovations really took me away from my photography, but now that they're almost finished I'm starting to get out again. This is the Historic Helicopters Westland Sea King HAR3 displaying at the Midlands Air Festival 2025. #helicopter #aviation

While clearing out my dad’s storage unit, I found a book - the ‘LikLik Buk’ from Papua New Guinea dated 1977. It was fascinating to look through it, and there were a couple of bits that really stood out - but certainly don’t seem to have been heeded by modern society. #papuanewguinea #literature

I’d just like to wish everyone here on @bsky.app a very Happy New Year, I hope 2025 brings you all that you wish for. Thank you very much to those that have decided I’m worth a follow - I’ll be back to taking photos very soon now that our building work is nearly finished #happynewyear #bluesky

I’ll probably actually join in with this one - not something I’ve done in the past. This looks like real fun and the opportunity to be inspired by other folks’ work as well.
Thinking about bringing a weekly friendly competition over from X. Some might know it.

Sharemondays is a competition that runs every Monday. Entering a shot with #Sharemondays2025 tag, taken the previous 7 days. Judged by the previous weeks winner.

Something different this year. As we haven’t yet got a functioning kitchen, a riverside walk followed by a meal at the Evesham Balti. It was amazing, a really friendly atmosphere with lovely food - and we were even given a Christmas card & Ferrero Rocher chocolates

I used to dabble in astrophotography. This image of the horsehead nebula was taken in a dark sky location near Ludlow in the U.K., I only had 1.7 hours of clear sky while we were there so really pleased with the result

We’re close enough now, so I’d like to take a moment to wish everyone a very Happy Christmas, and a healthy, peaceful & prosperous New Year

The excitement is growing - we’ve nearly got a kitchen again! We’ve actually managed with no oven and a single induction hob for a whole year while we’ve been renovating our new place. More description in the alt text.

I never realised I would be so excited to hear our builder utter the words “your kitchen is coming first thing in the morning” 🤣

A shot from April this year at Broadway Tower in the Cotswolds. A friend and I had ventured up to try and photograph a comet. Here he is seen setting up his telescope with the clouds reflecting the colour of the setting sun

I’m so glad I follow so many wonderful #photographers on @bsky.app as it gives me the chance to remain sane at the moment. A quick iPhone snap of the reason I can’t get out or do any editing! We’ve been renovating since the start of September, this is just the living room.

I'm really enjoying the atmosphere here on Bluesky, and so glad I made the decision to switch from Twitter/X. Not able to post a great deal yet, as I'm basically living in a building site at the moment. We seem to have hit what I am referring to as the 'period of maximum disruption'. 1/2

My first post since joining @bsky.app, an image taken on a foggy morning up at Brent Tor as the sun started to break through and create a lovely atmosphere.
