Dahon based , but not exlusive, car-lite daily mobility somewhere north of Vermont
@jimgrey.net I think you might like this story about a typewriter repair shop. A disappearing trade buoyed by recent interests for analog machines. sounds like film camera repair, non ?

This is the story of how a man traded steady, grinding corporate security for a dying craft and, in the process, found his soul.

Not to make anyone envious, but....
REV StDenis/Rachel is in Le Plateau, a ward of Montreal with population density at the levels of European or even Dutch cities

Someone rode a Bixi from Montreal to Sherbrooke this summer. Both cities share the same bikeshare system.

15 minutes city is aparently a source of anxiety for some fellow citizens.

When you become elderly, make sure to chose a neighbourhood ou a senior home near a bike lanes project.
You will never have as many fellow citizens concerned about your wellbeing, sp. being able to park or go about by car. Even if they will call you slow driver otherwise

Local car-uncles forum:
FAct: The new sidewalks are wide enough for 2 strollers to be able to pass each other, but car lanes are not 12 ft wide with 6 ft shoulders.
Apparently, this is war on cars
In a new neighbourhood that will be full of young families.

Portland blvd bike path project: "we cannot afford to allocate space to bike path" local car-uncles worry

The irony is not lost that the picture about it on a local forum opposing anything related to non car mobility is this one

Project of bike lanes that would serve the north ward high school...
Portland blvd is a 4 lane stroad, with curb parking, through mostly detached homes n'hood.

Local resident living on said stroads worries: bikes lanes will have a major impact on our lives, we need consultations

Upcoming Fall elections in town... again, when bike infras projects comme up, we here the age old cry "optimiser l’utilisation des fonds municipaux" careful budget management.

Here, is it for renewal of a 4 lanes stroads with curb parking on both sides, mainly bordered by detached homes...
