Many reasons to worry about this. One deeply felt: the sudden joy on the face of an LGBTQ+ young person when they see themselves reflected & acknowledged. In a book, a Pride display on a notice board, in a class. They walk a little taller. Being seen to exist can still be special.
This makes me so angry. Libraries should not be about censorship and school libraries especially so. To have had books like Heartstopper would have made my life easier. We say we are are about inclusivity yet we ban any LGBTQ+ books www.theguardian.com/books/articl....
