Hello! My name is Marshall and I am an MLIS student online from here in Raleigh, NC! I also have an M. Div and a BA in religious studies. I’m deeply interested in all things theology but also in all things library! In my spare time, I read cookbooks like novels! Ask me anything you’d like!
Alright priest friends! Looking for advice: now that I'm divorced in the eyes of the law, what does that look like from a TEC perspective, especially as I consider the ordination process? Is this, as my mother insists, a rubber stamp on my record to never ordain me or is more complex than that? ⚓

It’s been a long road but I’ve finally rounded the corner and come to a stop. Now it’s about setting my GPS for new places. ⚓️

I get officially divorced in the eyes of the law tomorrow. Though I have worked a ton in therapy on making sure I felt relief in this moment…I’m still heartbroken. There’s nothing anyone in the world can say that will cut as deep as her telling me some months ago that she “never regretted leaving” ⚓️

Apparently there’s Catholic drama Western NC over whether to allow altar rails and kneelers at communion? Wild if true. There’s like…much bigger fish to fry right now my friends.

Random thought I had on the way home from work tonight but I truly believe in my faith’s power to keep me sane right now. I ALSO believe in metal music’s ability to keep me focused and sane as well. And it feels weird to suggest a bunch of fairly religious folks listen to it but I truly believe it.

So my friend made me reactive VERY old discord account so we could “FaceTime” via their computer while their phone charged and I realize I’m not a part of like…any servers on there and it might be good for networking? Any #Library 📚 or #Narthex ⚓️ servers or folks I can connect with there?

I’m also looking at adding 1) a rich theological text, hopefully academic in nature and 2) a meditative text, either poetry or prose, to ponder gently throughout the year. What do yall have? ⚓️

It is a late-12c copy of John of Salisbury's life of Becket w/Alan of Tewkesbury's collection of 598(!!) of Becket's letters!

Okay my new years resolution is def going to be working less hard and being more present in my own life and the lives of those I love and cherish. I basically dissociated the entire holiday season from thanksgiving on and yeah…doesn’t feel good. Haven’t spent time with friends in months either…
