A very important point for the rest of the U.S. to understand.
If we saw squads of masked, unidentified men tear-gassing civilians on campuses and in peaceful + LEGAL street protests in another country, we'd say it was something like a dictatorship.
That country is now the United States. What now?

Although transparent it wouldn't be enough to see distiguisable shapes outside, and then there also still would be the black or at best opaque rubber seal for the moving part of the window.
On the other hand, I sat in the previous prototype "Gamma" and the view wasn't significantly obstructed to me.

The loss of energy harvest will be very limited because it's only 20 cells (it's one single string) and it's only during a usually very limited period of time. I rarely drive more than 4 hours a day, and mostly even less.
