@6music.bsky.social just made me chuckle - news item about the earthquake in Tibet. A remote and high altitude area ... "about 4 thousand kilometers high"!! Yes 4k km! Does make you wonder how the ISS at around 400km up manages to avoid all these high mountains 🤔🤔

Just on the slim chance that anyone is aware of anyone magically acquiring a new pair of binoculars or you see them offered for sale .... my Leica Ultravid 10 x 42 binoculars were stolen from a hide at WWT Slimbridge on 11 December. The serial number is 1593393. #BirdingGear

For anyone wondering how to tell the difference between a Whooper and a Bewick's Swan here's a comparison- Whooper has the 'wedge of cheese' and the yellow on a Bewick's beak never goes below the nostrils. Plus the Whooper much bigger but that mean nothing if they're not together #birds
