Much less than 12 hours even. In my case the tick was on and off in less than 4 hours. We never even saw the tick but I got a horrible rash and a three week recovery despite a heavy regimen of antibiotics. The 24-48 hour guidance should be revised.
public should be aware that transmission of Borrelia Burgdorferi, the bacteria that causes #Lyme disease can happen sooner than 24-36 hours. In fact, nymph ticks (much harder to spot than full-grown) have been known to transmit Lyme to a host in under 12 hours. Furthermore,

My wife and I have both been hospitalized in the past few years because of tick bites in Toronto. Doctors were oblivious. Lyme is bad. Bad governance is worse.

This is an important observation. Legislation that forces manufactures to standardize modules and interfaces could future-proof with hot swappable upgrades and mitigate “planned obsolescence”.
The thing I hate more than anything about EVs is that they’re basically computers with wheels. They’re computers first, cars second. Like most computers, there will be a time when a company says they no longer support the vehicle and that will be that.

I expect that consumer-facing AI programs will continue to improve and they may become much more useful tools for everyday life in the future.
But I think it was a disastrous mistake that today’s models were taught to be convincing before they were taught to be right.
