History constantly reaffirms that there is a conflict of interest between significant wealth and significant power. Almost no society or culture formally recognises this fact, so nothing is done in mitigation. Free democracy can only be saved by formally recognising this fact.

I find it highly ironic that the party that bemoaned the deep state and alleged the cover-up of pedophiles is now embroiled in defending the party that has the largest pedophile cover-up in American history.

My political hot take is that US voters should be able to recall elected representatives via petition - at any time.
No more hiding behind election terms.

Pardon the Corruption
Trump’s blanket pardons for stop-the-steal illegality aren’t only about settling scores from past elections. They’re about laying the groundwork to subvert future ones.

“What is new is the confluence of three trends:

The sheer scale of wealth for the richest.

The untethering of compensation from performance.

The amount of harm these figures are willing to inflict on society.

All three are rising to a dangerously high tide.

This entire article points out that there is no plan. His own Treasury Secretary says he doesn’t know anything about it. So why does media keep running these kind of headlines? He keeps making these Truth Social posts and media keeps running stories as if it is something real.

For 9 in 10 days so far this year, we were 100% powered for some part of the day by clean energy.

Another ugly move ⬇️

All of these actions to whitewash and rewrite history will take time to recover from.
Not only in America, but among all the other nations we have harmed.
We have heavy lifting to do now to create a more just society and rebuild trust with other countries.
A Dutch province has asked the US ambassador in the Netherlands to return two panels about African American soldiers to the visitors center of the Netherlands American Cemetery, located in Margraten (Limburg). The two panels were recently removed by the American Battle Monuments Commission (ABMC).

Voters want a Democratic Party that fights back against the forces that have rigged the system and made their lives more difficult.

A party that comforts the afflicted and afflicts the comfortable —not a party that buckles and capitulates.

When will party leadership learn this lesson?
