34 years on my chest. My tattoo for my late partner Larry, done by Jimbo Ermilio at The Brook in Hastings, MN. I sent him reference images and asked him to shape it into a memorial, and I cried when he showed me the design. (It had to futz with the photo to remove some glare.)

I'm chairing a session at ICMS in May (for which I'm a contributing reviewer). However, after booking my plane ticket, I really don't want to fly. Amtrak goes from Minot to Kalamazoo with only one change in Chicago, but I've heard it's not reliable. If you've done the 'Zoo by train, how was it?

I just decided that I'm going to hold (and advertise) a Black History Month event on campus, showing and discussing _I Am Not Your Negro: James Baldwin and Race in America_ (which uses Baldwin's writing and is narrated by Samuel L. Jackson). Other ideas?

I shut off FB Purity, the extension that blocked ads/posts from FB pages I hadn't followed, when I silenced Facebook. I went there today for a weekly check of Larry's account and was shocked to see all the fake "human interest" posts I had blocked. Do people really not realize this is garbage?
