Interesting to see so many great British patriots right now begging an American president to bankrupt one of Britain’s last remaining truly national institutions.

Delighted that we’ve been nominated for a Cardiff cycling award. (Category 6, since you ask). It’s a public vote (not sure if you asked that). Voting is open til the end of the month.
For anyone asking, the link is below…

Some achievement by the BBC to make Trump’s words worse than they actually were.

A note to those politicians who were demanding swift details about the suspects in the Huntingdon attack.
As it transpired, one was completely innocent and has been released. Luckily his identity was protected before social media could trash his reputation.

I’m not a particular fan of canal boating but the series Great Canal Journeys with Timothy West and Prunella Scales was a wonderful celebration of partnership and how dementia doesn’t have to confine you to the sidelines of life.

Why is the news media playing to Trump’s vanity by headlining whether or how he might run for a third term?

Poor show from Llyr Powell, the Reform candidate, in not make a concession speech in Caerphilly last night - even if he didn’t have one ready written.

I’m not at the Caerphilly count - and nor is Nigel Farage. The latter part is definitely more significant.

It’s looking like a Plaid victory - even possibly by a comfortable margin.

Would be a huge victory for Plaid.
Big blow to Reform.
And Labour with much to put right.

Not the most diverse of stages in the BBC Wales Caerphilly candidates hustings. Reform’s Llyr Powell rather dominating proceedings - albeit sounding stroppy.

A grim end to a grim life. His was the most sickening court case I covered in 40 years of news reporting.

England outclassing Wales. The only thing worse than the Welsh performance is ITV’s England-centric commentary.

There’s Toytown stuff about painkillers and autism - and then’s the experts and science.

Turns out, we weren’t the only tour in town. The farewell ride for Cardiff cycling legend Geraint Thomas.
We’re always on the lookout for guides with local knowledge, bike know-how and time on their hands.

I imagine Reform will be relieved to get a bit of media coverage at last today.

Wow. Farage doesn’t get much of this back in the UK.
Raskin: "The dictators of the world have got nothing to fear from this hearing. Republicans called it to attack our democratic allies in Europe. The star witness is not a human rights leader like Navalny, but a far-right pro-Putin politician who leads the UK Reform Party."

Met a British guy today who now lives in Spain and was back home for the first time in a while. Said he was shocked and saddened by the amount of racism being publicly aired in the UK - in marked contrast to what he remembered.

Great to see @robphillipshere.bsky.social, who I believe started reporting in the days of leather footballs and supporters’ rattles, embracing the world of the pod.
In the first episode of a brand new podcast, @robphillipshere.bsky.social and Nathan Blake bring you their take on Welsh football, loud and clear.
Have you heard the one about Blakey nearly signing for The Mighty Reds under Kenny Dalglish? @lfcr.bsky.social
