Administrator of the North Texas Apocalypse Bunker, a completely real and not at all made-up thing. Also, I write, edit, do game design, and dabble in acting. I can be googled.
Any time I see a headline that someone who used to be in a punk band has died at the age of 50-something or 60-something, I can’t help but think they did it wrong.

Apocryphally, Alexander Graham Bell’s preferred greeting on the telephone was “Ahoy.” The new greeting for the 21st century is “You’re on speakerphone.”

No. I don't want to join you on your discord channel. Call me old and stodgy, but I don't like being chirped at every five seconds to pay attention to the conversation, only to find that it's just people typing "LOL" or "kk" or "ya." Some of us have to work for a living, you know.

Every time I hear Glenn Frey’s “Smuggler’s Blues,” I want to rewatch Miami Vice. Every. Single. Time.

Talking about having good genes, especially when you mean “good jeans” is not a dog whistle. It’s a play on words. It’s an homonymic exploit, at best, a rather obvious pun. Of all the things to decide to raise a stink about...

I’m surprised there’s not a blog somewhere that collects all of the horror stories of dealing with the local CEFCO for things like a gas purchase or trying to buy a bottle of water while the staff has a fight that sounds like a family reunion on a bender. These places are builtpre-distressed.

What arrogance. These are the same people, who, on slow news days, love to take potshots at Hollywood, decrying it as a den of iniquity. The hypocrisy they exhibit is frankly Olympian. Only their willful ignorance is more galling.

I think what upsets me the most about these corporate shills is the whole "if you aren't with us, you're against us," mentality, or more to the point, "this movie isn't a list of our talking points, so it's bad and you shouldn't see it."

The conservative backlash against Superman is performative bullshit. It’s intellectually dishonest and they know it. Engage with them. Make them cry. You don’t tug on Superman’s cape, you feckless corporate shills.
