Does anyone actually like fake flowers?
I loathe this trend, as does everyone with a modicum of taste

This is quite the story. Proper, fact-collecting reportage too
Victor Garvey is one of London's biggest chefs; beloved by critics like Giles Coren.

But ex-staff, friends and investors paint a different picture; of bailiffs, mid-restaurant fights and Warhammer 40k fans losing their savings to Garvey.

Our weekend exposé:

www.the-londoner.co.uk/the-rise-and...
He's one of London’s most famous chefs. So why do so many people say Victor Garvey owes them money?
Giles Coren called him his “favourite kind of chef”. But former staff and business partners paint a different picture of the Michelin star winner.

Just had a jolly fight with a giant bloke on the bus bcs listening to his phone on loudspeaker. (I asked nicely if he had earphones. He said 'it's not that loud' and LOOMED.) French have banned it, and now the Irish. When is it our turn?

www.thejournal.ie/irish-rail-c...
Irish Rail is clamping down on listening to music out loud (you could get a €100 fine)
The railway operator is also requesting its customers not to vape on the train or put their feet or bags on seats.

Slightly plastered on raki in Piraeus. Just spent days in Sicily. But just thinking how much I adore London - possibly as only an incomer can. I've never found anything but curiosity and acceptance and adventure. Fk off Elon, fk off JD. We KNOW what you're up to
