📚 Some of our most historic collections for #LibraryShelfieDay!

⭐This part of our collection is known as the ‘Stars’, from the paper asterisks stuck on their spines. It contains the contents of the Library as it stood in 1714.

This watercolour was painted by artist, writer, and illustrator Gordon Home and featured in his book, "Yorkshire Vales and Wolds", 1908.

The view below is of Mont St Michel from the Causeway - an illustration from another book, "Normandy" published in 1905.

A sure way to banish the January blues!

For what it’s worth, my #BookOfTheYear2025 I have to choose two!
First up, and first read of 2025 so it was unsurpassed, Guilty By Definition by Susie Dent. A Christmas gift but read in January, and I loved it.
Secondly, the delightful Fly Fishing by JR Hartley. Yes, that one! What a little joy.
