Meandering geology student seeking the next adventure. Desperate to explore, forced to study. Happiest barefoot in a lake, listening to folk music, with good books, good vibes. and no sense of time.

Yo.

Coffee is a bean.
Vanilla is a bean.
Soy milk comes from beans.

So a Vanilla Soy Latte is just 3 bean soup.

Right? RIGHT?

What a productive and lovely day! More studying before bed but I think I am FINALLY getting better at locking in academically and prioritizing stressers!

Helen brought me a sticker today! I don't know what started this trend of bringing me stickers lately, but this is the third person and I am loving it.

@gendercrook.bsky.social I feel that you'd appreciate this.

"government shutdown?'

Everyday my faith in the younger generation drops. These are educated kids, about to enter the work force, with the entity of human knowledge in their pockets. Yes, government shutdown

It’s not that we didn’t want the shutdown to end, it’s the fact that millions of people suffered throughout this shutdown and it was for nothing. That’s the most upsetting part.

On one hand, it is disgusting to see democrats voting against the needs of their constituents. But how much longer could these go on? It doesn't feel much like a victory or a failure, just a lateral movement. Although I am sure those out of work and starting to breathe again!
BREAKING: The U.S. Senate passed legislation Monday to reopen the government, bringing the longest shutdown in history closer to an end as a small group of Democrats ratified a deal with Republicans despite searing criticism from within their party.

We're just a bunch of weirdos sitting on a rock, talking about rocks, and writing about rocks. I'm learning that, if you have basic needs met, everything else is gravy and not worth emotional pain.

Favorite therapy lessons so far:
-Action>anxiety
-Is this worth the emotion effort?
-Will you care in a year?
-In the bigger picture, is this important or does this only feel important?

Started grad school applications today! Worst case scenario I don't get in anywhere and can't find a geo job for immediately after graduation- I still had a hell of a ride these past few years and have more time to figure it out! Grad school would be rad, but life goes on either way.
