Halloween is a wonderful night to be an empty nester. I encourage the kids to take extra candy, I don’t sweat it when they forget to say thank you, and the sugar overload is not my problem.

When you enroll in a graduate program in public health, the intro lectures tout vaccines as “the greatest public health achievement of the 20th century” so many times that you get tired of hearing it.

I work in public health. If I were to write policy recommendations based on non-existent research, I would be fired. And for good reason.

It's hard to know what to say or whether it's even worth adding to the doom - what I will say is buy your trans friends' weird zine, their album, their art game - buy them a beer or a soda or a meal - give them some ko-fi money for doing absolutely nothing. We gotta protect trans kids and adults.
