How to explain book bans to those who *actually* want to understand what's going on.

Conveniently, I decided to rerun one of this year's most popular book censorship posts this week and it seems like I need to just rerun this every week.

There are a lot of opinions on sickness as someone with #GravesDisease. Supposedly, Methimazole is an immunosuppressent. I caught a head cold that everyone in Nebraska seems to have, but it is taking me out of commission. Any other Graves folks care to share your experiences of sickness and Graves?

The Forbidden History podcast is my new obsession. History told without assigning value or morality. Just the facts but very in-depth and entertaining. My jaw has dropped so many times since listening to my first episode last night.

Anyone surprised? What is being done to stop this and keep women safe?
Women are most likely to be harmed by a romantic partner (*cough* not immigrants or trans folks in bathrooms *cough*)

Me today!
Word of the day is ‘librocubicularist’: one who loves nothing better than reading in bed.

(Not easy to say, but I’m glad to know it exists).

Joining Bluesky was totally worth it, even if it was just for the sheer amount of cool space pics. 🤩🤩

My #Graves brothers and sisters, an unbreakable ancestral curse describes it so well! It is genetic, so there is the ancestral. It is for life, hence unbreakable. I have to take daily meds to fend off the curse. What other hero's journey metaphors work? Do we have quests?

Really enjoying this book. Not because I believe I am psychic but because it has fantastic grounding and protection information! Halfway done. 💜

Throwing this back out for your perusal. Nebraska school librarians tell it like it is.

A few months ago a journalism student at UNL reached out to see if she could interview me for an article for her Capstone. Truth is, this article could be about school librarians anywhere, but I am honored to be a part of the story.

One gift I am giving to myself is indulgence in small things. I live in the middle of the U.S. It is chilly out.

But I liked the color of the sky against my tree's changing leaves and let myself snap a photo. So simple.

Give yourself the little stuff. Your heart needs it.

One of the reasons my Graves Disease took so long to diagnose is because the symptoms are very similar to perimenopause. Once my heart was running marathons while I was resting, I realized something was wrong. I was diagnosed about 6 weeks ago. If you also have Graves, I would love to follow you!

I finished listening to @jessicavalenti.bsky.social 's "Abortion: Our bodies, their lies, and the truth we use to win." I cannot recommend it enough. I feel so much more informed and happy to have a direction and playbook. It's not over.
