I just completed the Surink Lietuvą
project - a unique challenge that involves visiting all municipalities of Lithuania and collecting fridge magnets that form a
complete map of the country. It was interesting to see smaller towns of Lithuania and regional parks with beautiful nature. #surinklietuva

I’ve long used FiveThirtyEight’s interactive “Hack Your Way To Scientific Glory” to illustrate the idea of p-hacking when I teach statistics. But ABC/Disney killed the site earlier this month :(

So I made my own with #rstats and Observable and #QuartoPub ! stats.andrewheiss.com/hack-your-way/

The authors point out that AI models base their predictions on sneaky shortcut effects all the time; they're just easier to identify when the conclusions (beer drinking) are clearly spurious.

Don't use red and green data lines/surfaces in the same panel please #chemsky. It can be difficult for some colorblind readers to differentiate them. I've accepted (in principle) 2 papers today, and both sets of authors were asked to remove red/green colour contrasts www.nature.com/articles/d41...
