I fondly remember a past managers's expression when I explained his goal: to get maximum productivity out of employees for minimum compensation was diametrically opposed to the employees' goal of getting maximum compensation for minimum effort. He tried to contradict me and couldn't. A good day.

My specialist now requires a yearly referral from my GP to continue service. My rebuttal: "For my continued patronage I require 3 letters of referral from satisfied patients, a copy of all degrees and certificates he holds, and written explanations for any negative reviews."
