November gone,8 books read, 3 more by T. Kingfisher, highly recommend "Bryony and Roses" for Beauty & the Beast fans. It was super hard to pick my favorite between "The Hearthwitch's Guide to Magic and Murder" and "Tempest of Tea ". Ultimately chose Hearthwitch since Tempest ends on a cliffhanger.

It was hectic September and October so I fell behind on my monthly book posts. In both months, I continued through T. Kingfisher's back catalog, I can safely say that she is officially one of my favauthors. She does a great job of weaving humor into all her books, fantasy, romance, or horror.

It's really hard to be the only child of a parent who is struggling financially. My household is living paycheck to paycheck and I can only do so much.

Living in a capitalist society means explaining to your 4 year old that yes "everything" costs money, even water. She asked "why?" and all I could say was "That's a good question."

Just got home from the @darknwpodcast.bsky.social cast party, not only was it fun to meet and hangout with my fellow cast members (we had to record solo) but getting to hear some of the full episodes has me so excited for you all to hear them too! I am so proud to be a part of this project.

I'm so frustrated at UPS. Supposed to receive a package today that requires a signature. Delivery window is 4:30-8:30p. All afternoon/evening I'm waiting, watching the truck map where I can see it's in surrounding neighborhoods. 8:30 rolls around, no package, no update, and the map no longer loads.

I wish there was a way to communicate with drivers who's cars are covered in stickers that make you believe you come be friends.

I hate planned obsolescence, and the inability to just fix something. I need a new phone, and it's going to be such an impact on our budget.

Cynthia and Adam are rightly getting so much praise for JCS, but Josh Gad is absolutely my Herod forevermore. He was funny, menacing, dismissive (the gum?!), to me this is the perfect Herod. This version of JCS was practically perfect in every way and I'm sorry I missed it.

Cynthia and Adam are rightly getting so much praise for JCS, but Josh Gad is absolutely my Herod forevermore. He was funny, menacing, dismissive (the gum?!), to me this is the perfect Herod. This version of JCS was practically perfect in every way and I'm sorry I missed it.

Last night after watching 28 Years Later, I kept thinking about all the "J" names. Jim from the first movie, then in this one we have Jamie and Jimmy (which with the accents sound super similar). Any theories? I have to believe it's on purpose. #28yearslater #horror

Everyone needs a horror buddy, I've wanted to see 28 Years Later since the "Boots" trailer, but my husband doesn't do most horror. Thankfully my buddy @evi1r0n.bsky.social does! I was not expecting the emotional beats, and I really enjoyed it. Looking forward to the next 2!

Everyone needs a horror buddy, I've wanted to see 28 Years Later since the "Boots" trailer, but my husband doesn't do most horror. Thankfully my buddy @evi1r0n.bsky.social does! I was not expecting the emotional beats, and I really enjoyed it. Looking forward to the next 2!
Just read "The Warm Hands of Ghosts" a two POV story about a Candian nurse & her soldier brother in WWI. While it has fantastical elements, it's a powerful book on the nature of trauma, memories and the transitionary state of WWI. In addition, it made me aware of how uneducated I am about WWI.

Just read "The Warm Hands of Ghosts" a two POV story about a Candian nurse & her soldier brother in WWI. While it has fantastical elements, it's a powerful book on the nature of trauma, memories and the transitionary state of WWI. In addition, it made me aware of how uneducated I am about WWI.
Finally my June reads! No bad books but my highlights were more @tkingfisher.com this time with horror! "House with Good Bones" won the month for the suspense. "No Drama Discipline" is a parent book I'll be rereading & recommending. Iron Widow is my top book for the first 1/2 of 2025!

Finally my June reads! No bad books but my highlights were more @tkingfisher.com this time with horror! "House with Good Bones" won the month for the suspense. "No Drama Discipline" is a parent book I'll be rereading & recommending. Iron Widow is my top book for the first 1/2 of 2025!

One small thing I appreciate about being a parent with a child in daycare these days: getting photo updates both good and bad. I love seeing what she's doing, and I also appreciate getting a photo when she's gotten hurt so I don't stress about how bad it is.

Of the 7 I've read, 6 were this year, enjoyed all of them, but her horror is what I've enjoyed the most. They grab you & hold on, it's after midnight, I have to get up in 5 hours, but I still HAD to finish this book.

My community has a mutual aid network, and today some members came to help my mom reclaim her front yard. My mom is underemployed, disabled, and was getting fined by her HOA over weeds. In >3 hours, 3 of us we got so much done, and restored my mom's faith in humanity. #mutualaid #community
