Palindromes are words or phrases that spell the same forwards or backwards. Presumedly the first words spoken between humans in the Garden of Eden was a palindrome ("Madam, I'm Adam"). The longest palindrome I know is "Doc note, I dissent, a fast never prevents a fatness, I diet on cod."

In our recently submitted grants we had to change “traumatic brain injury” to “concussive brain injury” and “male and female mice” to “male and non-male mice” because traumatic and female are now verboten words that can get our grants killed. It’s insanity.
