WTF, @theatlanticpr.bsky.social ?

Why give this anti-science, lying, grifter this kinda positive framing?

He is a disaster. Period.

False balance disaster👇
Over many interviews, Robert F. Kennedy Jr. told Michael Scherer about how he plans to remake America’s public-health system. Can he lead the scientific establishment he’s spent much of his life crusading against?

The Canadian Press finally called out Kelsi Sheren’s claim that Canada has a plan to euthanize 15 Million Canadians.
Health Canada says it’s "false" and "disinformation" — which effectively means they believe she’s spreading lies.

Please check out this great Chatelaine article by Kelley Korbin. She shares her MAiD story and answers some of the most common questions people have about MAiD. We’re grateful she invited Kim and me to offer a bit of our expertise as well.

"Research on Canada's potential savings from medically assisted death misrepresented". Agreed, though we'd use a stronger word than "misrepresented".

The Atlantic published our letter in their December issue, responding to the magazine’s September feature on MAiD in Canada. Due to limited space, that published version was an anaemic review of the original critique we published on Substack. maidincanada.substack.com/p/our-letter...
Our Letter in The Atlantic
After our response to Elaina Plott Calabro's MAiD feature titled "Canada is Killing Itself", the editors invited us to submit a letter. It was published—but not without limits.

We’ve shared an article we wrote over a year ago. Many of our newer subscribers won’t have read it, but it’s become relevant again. The same old misinformation we addressed a year ago is again being echoing through the halls of Parliament.

Health Canada released the What We Heard report from its national conversation on advance requests for MAiD. It doesn't make recommendations, and it doesn’t change the law. It’s a reflection of what people in Canada said—and the concerns they raised—when it comes to advance requests for MAiD.

It’s not every day you can be thankful for how a conservative outlet covers MAiD, but credit where it’s due.

We don’t agree with everything in The American Conservative’s article but they handled it seriously and without the usual sensationalism.

The most common question we get is if people with dementia can have MAiD. With the news of Robert Munsch’s eligibility for MAiD and with the forthcoming federal report on advance requests for dementia, we felt we should take a closer look at the topic.
