It is like genuinely insane to me how fucking good the modern Planet of the Apes movies are and how they get almost no buzz lol. Like such a high quality and very consistent series of movies that has stayed that way despite changing creative hands pretty frequently.

Since Nintendo is adamant abt Zelda being more open, I think the next step to that is seeing actual dark world mechanics applied to that structure like Link to The Past or Metroid Prime 2 where each world impacts the other in certain ways. Or time travel like OoT which is kinda the same thing!

If Playstation and Level 5 decided to do a new Dark Cloud game, it would take 15 years to develop, go through many years of development hell and burn through multiple creative leads and then still come out and be the most peak shit in existence.

After FINALLY beating all the DS Castlevania games, wow! What a fucking generational run that series had on that console! I'm a big Metroidvania fan in general, but honestly nobody does it quite like the genre's namesakes. Makes me sad that both franchises are always on life support or um dead lol.

Something I love abt the Switch 2 is how for most third party games so far, they feel like actual alternative ways to play third party games with cutbacks that don't feel NEARLY as detrimental to the experience as the Switch 1. Esp games w cross save like Cyberpunk or Fantasy Life.

I'm really curious what Bloober's Nintendo project is. Ppl are predicting Eternal Darkness or Metroid, but I feel like it if it was a Nintendo IP, they would just not be allowed to talk abt it yet lol. I'm just guessing a horror game in the spirit of some other Nintendo IP.
