I don’t think anyone is prepared for what they just did w/ ICE.

This is not a simple budget increase. It is an explosion - making ICE bigger than the FBI, US Bureau of Prisons, DEA,& others combined.

It is setting up to make what’s happening now look like child’s play. And people are disappearing.

This is utterly vile. Loomer is calling for ethnic cleansing and we need to say so, every single day, and stand in the way of this.
The entire Latino population in the U.S. is 65 million. She means all of us.

See you today, ALA! I’m at the Books Unbanned booth giving away swag and talking about the Brooklyn Public Library’s program.

You can catch me on two panels: one at 1 pm (where you can get a print toolkit!) and one at 230 pm.

A lot of kids need books. A lot of those kids sign their emails to authors “some random kid.”
Maybe before you ban books, you should talk to the kids about how they feel. That’s what protecting kids would look like. Not taking away books that help them feel seen while you ignore them. 👍🏻

People don't know you can still die from asthma. A HS friend lost her twin to an asthma attack a few years ago. He had it right next to his truck. They didn't find him for hours. Asthma is a life-threatening condition and requires multi-step medication to manage it. They're trying to kill her.

It’s hard being trans in this country right now (understatement), but I love being me and hope that the future is still bright.

I do a lot of things in my day that I don't post about. call senators, sign petitions, rage cry and wake up terrified for people I love who this govt hates. I also keep this candle of Walter Mercado near me, for when a light, a miracle, a witness is needed. I'm gonna need more candles, arent I?
