Since giving up on Spock's World I decided it was Le Guin time.
I'm a couple chapters in and enjoying myself quite a bit. I love how easily the magic system is set up in the first chapter and how easy it is to understand as it adds new layers as Sparrowhawk learns more.

Unfortunately, yeah, that's a skill all its own. If you're too shy to advertise you'll find no one reading your works, and the less confident parts of you might find that as evidence that your work is low quality (as if quality is equal to readership). Or at least that's how it goes for me.

Just to give you an idea of how censored my work must be to post to a wider audience: the entirety of act 3 in book one must be completely rewritten to not turn the heroes into babies. Even with zero diaper, nursery, or crib references, you simply cannot do that. At all. Deadass they blacklist you.
Really coming to terms with shit. No matter how heavily I censor my fiction for its sexual content, it is still "fantasy with heavy and complex themes." And there is no audience for it.
I didn't write something that fit in a nice box, and that is "bad."
If I want readers, I need to stick to horny.
