Students finished our month long “PREsearch Artifact Project”s today demonstrating their newly acquired historian skills. All I can say is I’m beyond proud and feeling insanely lucky that I get to teach these amazing kiddos for a living. This has been one of my favorite weeks in my teaching career.

"What’s really occurring is an attack on the American mind.
Throughout history, tyrants have understood that their major enemy is an educated citizenry. Slaveholders prohibited . . . learning to read. Nazis burned books. Putin and Xi censor the media. Ignorance is the handmaiden of tyranny."
Today, Trump is dismantling much of the Department of Education. He has ordered wrestling executive-turned-Education Secretary Linda McMahon to shut most of her department.

But there’s a much larger story here. robertreich.substack.com/p/trumps-att...

While Trump has been distracting America with everything else, Elon Musk’s staffers are quietly taking over NOAA and the Department of Labor. They are also using AI to help rewrite a significant portion of the federal government’s computer systems.
